 AC & DC Analysis

1) How to Simulate a Schmitt Buffer using HSPICE (◄CLICK HERE)

DC analysis is useful when generating I-V curves for an IO driver;  measuring DC voltage levels;  Static currents;  gate trip points.  Click the above link to see example for measurement of hysteresis levels on a Schmitt Trigger input buffer.

2) How to Measure Input Capacitance using AC Analysis (◄CLICK HERE)

AC analysis is useful for all frequency-domain measurements.   Click above link to see an example showing how AC analysis can be used to measure the input capacitance for an inverter.    This method is also what I use to measure a buffer's "C_comp" value for my IBIS models.
